67-year-old S'porean man is S'pore's 22nd Covid-19 related death

The Ministry of Health (MOH) reported 465 new cases of Covid-19 infection on Friday, May 16.

This brings the total number of reported cases in Singapore to 27,356.

22nd death

A 67-year-old Singaporean man, Case 1516, has died from complications related to Covid-19.

The man had a history of ischaemic heart disease, hypertension and hyperlipidaemia. Sengkang General Hospital has reached out to his family and is extending assistance to them.

He is the 22nd person in Singapore who has died as a result of Covid-19.

The last Covid-19 related death was reported on May 11, 2020.

That man, Case 1,305, is a 68-year-old male Singaporean, and had a history of hypertension and hyperlipidaemia.

He was the 21st person to die from the virus in Singapore.

Breakdown

Imported cases: 0

Cases in the community: Five (Four Singaporeans/Permanent Residents, One Work Pass)

Work Permit holders (residing outside dormitories): Three

Work Permit holders (residing in dormitories): 457

Discharged patients

The number of discharged patients is 1,094.

This brings the total number of discharged cases to 8,342.

A total of 1,111 confirmed cases remain in hospitals, while 17,881 are isolated and cared for at various community facilities.

16 cases are in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), down from a total of 18 on May 15.

New clusters

There were three new clusters reported, at the following locations:

  • 7 Tech Park Crescent
  • 137 Tuas View Square
