932 new Covid-19 cases in S'pore reported on May 1, 5 are S'poreans/PRs

As of May 1, 12pm, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed 932 new cases of Covid-19 infection.

Five of the new cases today are Singaporeans or Permanent Residents.

There are now 17,101 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Singapore.

Details of the cases are currently being worked on, and further updates will be shared via a separate press release that will be issued later tonight.

On Apr. 30, MOH reported 528 new Covid-19 cases and 12 new clusters, including one at the Institute of Mental Health.

It was also reported that a 58-year-old female Singapore Citizen (Case 703) has passed away from complications due to Covid-19 infection on April 30, 2020. She was an imported case.

This is the 15th Covid death in Singapore.

The vast majority of the daily increases in cases in Singapore are Work Permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories.

The number of Singaporeans or PRs among the confirmed cases have been in the single digit for the past three days (Apr. 28 - Apr. 30).
