Former WP chief Low Thia Khiang discharged from ICU after 5 days, will remain in general ward for recovery

He will spend a few more weeks in the general ward to recuperate.

In the latest media statement by the Workers' Party (WP) media team, May 5, Low Thia Khiang has been transferred to a general ward on May 4.

Spent 5 days in ICU

The former secretary-general for Workers’ Party had been admitted into an ICU after sustaining a head injury from a fall at home on Apr. 30.

He was in the ICU for five days.

WP added that he is likely to remain in the general ward for a few more weeks to recuperate.

"Mr Low's family has asked us to convey their deep appreciation for all the good wishes sent to him for a speedy recovery", the statement added.

Previously, the WP media team shared that while Low is absent from work, the WP's Aljunied GRC MPs will cover his duties in his constituency, with the help of former Non-constituency Member of Parliament (NCMP) Gerald Giam.
