Singaporean singer JJ Lin was photographed parking his car illegally outside a new cafe on May 5, which has yet to begin operations.

Parked right outside the cafe

According to Apple Daily, the 39-year-old singer was checking up on the preparations for a new cafe outlet in Taipei's East district, when he was seen parking his BMW right outside the storefront.

He had parked along the sidewalk and blocked the pedestrian path, reportedly drawing flak from people accusing him of '"setting a bad example".

The incident happened around 7:30pm.

His BMW M2 is estimated to cost NT$3.7 million (S$175,071).

Lin has entered the F&B business in 2018, with the opening of Miracle Coffee in Taipei that year, as well as a second branch in Shanghai in 2019.

It is believed that he is opening another branch in Taipei.

Apple Daily reported that Lin was seen wearing a cap and a mask as he enjoyed an egg waffle and some drinks with his friends in the store.

He stayed in the store for about 20 minutes, and subsequently left holding a metal box that he placed in the trunk of his car before driving away.

Apologised for breaking rules

Apple Daily reported that his agency has issued a statement responding to the incident.

They clarified that the store is currently under renovations and drivers would sometimes have to park at the storefront. However, they apologised for breaking the rules and blocking pedestrians.

His agency also added that the BMW photographed is not Lin's new car.

Previously, in March 2019, Lin was photographed for illegally parking his Ferrari while waiting for a parking spot in an undisclosed spot in Taiwan.

He had parked his car on a red line, where parking is not permitted.
