Starbucks has a few unique establishments in the world, including this one in Bali, Indonesia.
Here's a Starbucks in Japan quite unlike other outlets around the world.
Traditional-looking Starbucks
Located in Kawagoe City in Saitama, Japan is a quaint-looking Starbucks outlet.
Called the Kawagoe Kanetsuki Dori Starbucks Coffee, this unique-looking Starbucks has been around since March 2018.
What sets it apart from the other Starbucks outlets is that it follows the traditional Edo style, just like the other shops surrounding it.
Traditional decor
The exterior of the shop is also made out of locally-produced timber.
While the interior looks more modern, there are still some traditional elements to it.
For example, the framed artworks are made from the fusuma (sliding panels) seen in traditional Japanese houses.
While the bench cushions are made using Kawagoe Tozan, a fabric used to make traditional Kawagoe kimonos.
Relaxing outdoor area
The cafe also has an outdoor seating area that looks like a zen Japanese garden.
30 minutes north of Tokyo
This outlet is located just 30 minutes north of Tokyo, Japan.
If you're wondering why this Starbucks outlet looks so different, it's because the city is also known as Little Edo, which is known to preserve the more traditional Edo period ambience.
For context, the period between 1603 and 1868 is known as the Edo period.
