ICA to make selected services available at Lavender building by appointment only post-circuit breaker

No walk-ins will be accepted.

Selected services will resume at the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) building once circuit breaker ends after June 1.

However, they will be made available by appointment only, with members of the public reminded to continue using ICA's e-serivces for passport applications, identity card (NRIC) registrations, and the extension of short-term visit passes.

Only services which cannot be completed online, such as passport or NRIC collection, will be completed physically at the building.

The move is in line with the gradual resumption of the Public Service Division's delivery of services at physical touchpoints.

Appointments made online

Walk-ins will not be accepted, said ICA in a news release.

Appointment dates and times will have to be obtained before an individual goes to the ICA building.

Appointments can be made by those who have submitted an earlier application, and when the application process requires them to go to the ICA building.

Those individuals can book an appointment through the ICA's e-Appointment Service here.

For services not available on the e-Appointment Service, booking an appointment can be completed by obtaining an ICA permission letter or email for entry into the building.

This requires the individual to fill up this electronic form.

Those who had earlier made appointments which were scheduled during the circuit breaker period, but could not visit the ICA Building to attend their appointments due to restricted counter services, can reschedule their appointments through the e-Appointment Service.

"Applicants should avoid rushing to the ICA Building in the immediate post-Circuit Breaker period," said ICA, which has extended the deadline for the collection of all uncollected passports and NRICs to Sep. 30.

Applicants for Singapore citizenship, permanent residence, and long-term visit passes have also had the validity of their in-principle approval extended until June 30.

ICA arranging deliveries

To minimise the number of visitors to the building, ICA will arrange delivery of the NRIC and passport to residents who have applied for a NRIC under mandatory/ optional NRIC re-registration, or applied for a passport to replace an expiring passport after receiving ICA’s notification letter, between Jan. 1 and May 31, 2020.

Those who will receive deliveries will be contacted by ICA from mid-June to end July 2020.

They will be given details of the one-off delivery service — which will be free-of-charge.

ICA also reminded foreigners to ensure they have valid short-term visit passes.

"Those who wish to extend their stay in Singapore must submit an online application via MyICA to extend their pass," said ICA.

"They are advised to do so at least seven days before the expiry of their pass."
