A girl from Hubei province, China, went viral among Chinese netizens after photos of her studying in a cramped corner under her parents' market stall in a food market.
Girl studies under parents' food stall
Ke En Ya, 7, has been spending her time studying at the food market since April 3, after the lockdown was lifted in Hubei province last month.
While the lockdown has been lifted, most schools have yet to reopen, according to CCTV, and online classes are conducted instead.
As there is little space underneath the stall, Ke often bumps her head on the "ceiling" of her study corner.
Despite the cramped space and uncomfortable conditions, Ke has been studying like this for more than a month, CCTV reported.
She also helps with errands at the her parents' braised food stall during her free time.
When the stall is not that busy, Ke's mother checks her assignments and work, taking time to teach her daughter while there are no customers around.
Ke's mother told a Chinese news outlet that she has to bring Ke along to work as there is no one at home to help take care of her.
Above the chopping board is life, while below is hope.
