Deaths of Indian & Thai nationals in S'pore not linked to Covid-19 though both tested positive

The current death toll in Singapore for Covid-19 stands at 21.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) announced two deaths on Tuesday (May 12).

While both cases were found to have Covid-19, neither death has been classified as linked to the virus.

Case 23908

Case 23908 was a 50-year-old male Thai national who had been sent to the emergency department of Ng Teng Fong General Hospital on May 10.

He was confirmed to have a Covid-19 infection the next day.

According to MOH, he died on May 12 from a cerebral haemorrhage.

Case 24013

Case 24013 was a 31-year-old male Indian national who died on May 10.

He had collapsed in his dormitory complaining of chest pain and was only confirmed to have Covid-19 after his death of May 11.

MOH has labelled his cause of as coronary thrombosis which is the formation of a blood clot inside a blood vessel of the heart.

The current Covid-19 death toll in Singapore stands at 21.

Update as of May 12

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 884 new cases of Covid-19 as of 12pm on Tuesday, May 12.

The total number of cases in Singapore is now at 24,671.

There are also three Singaporeans/Permanent Residents among the confirmed cases.

The majority of the cases are Work Permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories.

Total daily increase for past seven days:

May 5: 632

May 6: 788

May 7: 741

May 8: 768

May 9: 753

May 10: 876

May 11: 486
