An avid mountain biker in Singapore passed on after collapsing suddenly during a ride on Apr 28.

The family of the cyclist, Louis Lai, is making a public appeal for Lai's bicycle to be returned, according to a post by Facebook user Tiffane Goh.

This is so that it can be kept by the family, "in remembrance of him", as it was "deeply treasured" by Lai.

The post said, "we hope very much to recover it in remembrance of him and now desperately seek your help to share this post."

How the bicycle ended up lost

As the biker had been cycling on his own that evening, members of the public helped to call for an ambulance.

While he was taken to the hospital, the response team was not able to bring the bicycle along.

The bicycle is believed to have been left by the side of the road, but was nowhere to be found by evening on the same day.

Bicycle was last seen at Bukit Batok East Ave 2
