Covid-19: No new clusters for 3rd day in a row, over 16,000 have recovered from infection

Both community cases from today are asymptomatic cases from the education sector.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed 383 new cases of Covid-19 infection as of 12pm on Tuesday, May 26.

This brings the total number of cases in Singapore to 32,343.

The majority of the cases are Work Permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories.

Among the confirmed cases, one is a Singaporean. According to MOH, this local case was picked up as a result of proactive screening of preschool staff.

Summary of confirmed cases

706 more cases have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities.

In total, 16,444 have recovered from the virus and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.

There are currently 585 confirmed cases who are still in hospitals. Of these, most are stable or improving, and 8 are in critical condition in the intensive care unit.

15,291 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive for Covid-19.

23 have passed away from complications due to Covid-19 infection.

  • Wet market at Block 963 Jurong West Street 91 on May 24
  • Jurong Point (1 Jurong West Central 2), Fairprice Xtra on May 24
