The Ministry of Health (MOH) has preliminarily confirmed 486 new cases of Covid-19 as of 12pm on Monday, May 11.

This brings the total number of reported cases in Singapore to 23,787, taking into account some 33 false positive cases that were discovered and reported by the ministry on Sunday, as well as two cases that brought up equivocal results (these were later retested negative).

There are also two Singaporeans and Permanent Residents among the confirmed cases.

The majority of the cases are Work Permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories.

MOH added:

"The lower number of cases today is partly due to fewer tests being processed at a testing laboratory as it is recalibrating its apparatus for one of the test kits."

MOH also said that further updates will be shared in a separate announcement later Monday.

5 new clusters reported on Sunday

On Sunday, MOH reported five new clusters, largely in construction sites and industrial parks:

33 false positives discovered from previously reported cases

In addition, it was discovered that there were 33 individuals falsely tested positive for Covid-19, following second-round tests in a national lab:

It arose from an apparatus calibration issue from one of the laboratories' test kits.
