1,275 Covid-19 patients were discharged from hospitals and community isolation facilities on Friday, May 15, Singapore's Ministry of Health (MOH) announced.
On the other hand, a total of 793 confirmed cases were reported on the same day.
This marks the second day in a row in which the number of Covid-19 discharges is higher than the number of new cases being reported.
Least number of patients in ICU
In addition, 18 patients are reportedly in critical condition in the intensive care unit (ICU).
The last time the number of patients in the ICU was lower than 18, was more than a month ago on March 27, when 17 patients were reported to be in critical condition.
Here are the details:
Most patients in hospitals are in stable condition
There are currently 1,124 confirmed cases who are still in the hospitals. Other than the 18 patients in critical condition, most are stable or improving.
18,498 patients are currently isolated and cared for at community facilities. They either have mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive for the virus.
21 people have passed away from Covid-19-related complications since the pandemic hit Singapore.
Five new clusters, McDonald's cluster closed
Five new clusters have also been reported on May 15.
In addition, as there have been no more cases linked to McDonald’s and the renovation sites at the National University Hospital (5 Lower Kent Ridge Road) for the past two incubation periods of 28 days, the clusters have now been closed.
