The Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed 305 new cases of Covid-19 as of 12pm on Monday, May 18.
The total number of Covid-19 cases in the country is now 28,343.
Among the confirmed cases, two are Singaporeans.
The majority of the cases are Work Permit holders residing in foreign worker dormitories.
The lower number of cases today is partly due to fewer tests being processed as one testing laboratory is reviewing its processes following an earlier apparatus calibration issue, and will need time to ramp up its testing capacity.
495 more cases of Covid-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities. In all, 9,835 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.
There are currently 1,036 confirmed cases who are still in hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and 12 are in critical condition in the intensive care unit.
17,450 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive for Covid-19. 22 have passed away from complications due to Covid-19 infection.
There are four new clusters.
Seven of the newly confirmed cases are linked to 11 previous cases to form a new cluster at 2 Kampong Ampat.
10 of the earlier confirmed cases have now been linked to form a new cluster at 43 Tuas View Close.
