M'sian woman cracks Famous Amos cookie recipe, Facebook post shared 200,000 times

Cookie dough looks delicious too.

An avid home chef in Malaysia has put up a recipe that she said creates cookies just like the ones sold at Famous Amos.

Her post, accompanied by photos of the process and exact measurements, has been shared 205,000 times internationally.

Here's how to make it.

Ingredients:

  • 250g butter
  • 1 1/4 cups brown sugar
  • 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup corn flour
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp sodium bicarbonate
  • 6 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 egg
  • Almond nibs (optional)

Step 1: In a bowl, combine butter, brown sugar, vanilla essence, egg, and mix well.

Step 2: Add all remaining ingredients (except chocolate chips) and mix well again.

Finally, add chocolate chips into cookie better and mix again. (Optional: add almond nibs after chocolate chips and mix)

Step 3: Refrigerate the cookie dough for 30 minutes.

Step 4: Preheat oven to 150°C. Coat the baking tray with some butter. Roll cookie dough into small balls and distance them tray.

Step 5: Bake for 20 minutes until cookies turn golden brown.

And that's it.

Wait for the cookies to cool down to start packing them. Or else eat them while they are warm.
