Thanks to Covid-19, everybody in Singapore is required to wear a mask when they step out of their house.

This includes taxi drivers who ferry passengers all day long.

500 straps for taxi drivers

Wearing a earloop mask for an extended period can cause irritation or pain to the back of one's ears.

Which is why community initiative, Project Co-Knit with Love, has given 500 knitted mask straps to ComfortDelgro Taxi drivers on May 18.

Speaking to Mothership, a spokesperson from ComfortDelgro shared that they will be receiving a total of 2,500 mask straps from Project Co-Knit with Love.

The mask straps are made from cotton and are meant to relieve the strain on the ears from wearing masks for the whole day.

According to the notes attached to the straps, it is a contribution to the taxi drivers for keeping "the nation and us" safe during this challenging period.

ComfortDelgro cabbies can collect these mask straps from May 25 from the Marymount Fuel Kiosk.

Collection times are from 7am to 11am and 4pm to 8pm.
