Tough times.

Since the Covid-19 outbreak, taxi drivers in Singapore are taking up different avenues to continue to make a living.

This includes ComfortDelgro Taxi cabby, Teo Kim Yew.

Delivers pizza until 11pm

According to a post by ComfortDelgro Taxi, Teo has been a taxi driver for 20 years.

As a taxi driver, the 58-year-old man is used to driving until late at night at about 11pm. A routine you might expect to have change significantly due to the circuit breaker measures, and many more staying inside.

This, however, has not changed since the Covid-19 pandemic.

Instead of ferrying passengers to their destinations, he delivers food for Pizza Hut from 5pm to 11pm with his taxi.

Getting used to the job

According to Teo, it took time for him to get used to the job.

However, becoming a food deliveryman has helped him tide through these uncertain times.

"It took me some time to get used to delivering food but after I set my heart and mind to it, it got easier. There are plenty of orders during dinner and it has helped me tide through the circuit breaker."
