Eateries in Singapore that need help with delivery services, here's something you can consider.

ComfortDelgro Taxi has launched F&B delivery service to help both taxi drivers and F&B business owners during the Circuit Breaker period.

This will provide taxi drivers a source of income and help F&B business owners meet the demand for delivery orders.

How it works

According to the press release, some taxi drivers have been familiarised with the service through a trial session on April 23.

Deliveries will be charged according to the distances required, starting from S$6.50. F&B outlets that make bookings with two drop-offs in one booking will pay a discounted rate starting at S$8.50.

F&B businesses with multiple outlets will need to set up separate accounts for each pick-up location.

Taxi drivers will bid for the delivery jobs via the ComfortDelivery Driver App. Upon collection, the outlet can pay the drivers via PayNow or cash.

The outlet can also track the location of the taxi and when the taxi driver delivers the order via the app.

All delivery fees will go directly to the taxi drivers.

No administrative fees will be imposed on the taxi drivers and F&B outlets during this circuit breaker period which is expected to last till June 1.

Mutually beneficial solutions

The lead of #savefnbsg, a ground-up coalition of over 500 restaurants in Singapore, Lynn Yeow-De Vito said that the coalition is appreciative of this initiative and glad to be working together with ComfortDelgro Taxi.

"We are glad to be able to work together to find mutually beneficial solutions to the challenges we all face," she said.

The CEO of ComfortDelGro Taxi, Ang Wei Neng said that he hopes the initiative will provide "fast, reliable and affordable delivery service" for F&B outlets and taxi drivers can also "earn some extra incomes during these very challenging times".

"What the merchant pays is what the cabby receives," Ang said.
