The Build-To-Order (BTO) exercise originally scheduled for launch in May 2020 will be combined with the August 2020 BTO exercise, the Housing & Development Board announced on May 29.
In August 2020, HDB will offer about 7,800 BTO flats in Ang Mo Kio, Bishan, Choa Chu Kang, Geylang, Pasir Ris, Tampines, Tengah and Woodlands.
In November 2020, HDB will offer about 5,700 flats in Bishan, Sembawang, Tampines, Tengah and Toa Payoh.
Of these, the flats in Choa Chu Kang and Tampines North (August 2020) and Tengah (November 2020) have shorter waiting times.
More information on the BTO flats are available on the HDB InfoWEB.
Construction delays expected
HDB said it expects the completion of some BTO projects to be delayed by up to six months beyond their original Estimated Completion Dates.
This is due to the suspension of construction activities during the circuit breaker period, as well as strict safe management measures that need to be put in place at worksites that would lead to time extensions.
Where the project completion dates are affected, HDB said it will keep flat buyers informed of the revised probable completion dates via their My HDBPage account.
Upgrading works will not resume for the time-being.
HDB is working with BCA and our contractors to assess when and how works can resume in a safe and calibrated manner.
Suspension since April 7
Due to the circuit breaker measures, all construction activities at HDB’s worksites were suspended from April 7, 2020.
The Multi-Ministry Taskforce announced on May 15, 2020 that construction work will be allowed to resume in phases from June 2, 2020, but in a safe and controlled manner to minimise the risk of a Covid-19 resurgence.
The government will prioritise the resumption of critical and time-sensitive projects to allow the construction workforce to resume work safely.
Building contractors must meet the safety pre-requisites under Building and Construction Authority’s Covid-Safe Restart Criteria before they are allowed to resume works on site.
HDB is working closely with its building contractors and BCA on the phased resumption of construction works at the various sites.
Pilot assisted living project delayed
In March 2020, it was announced that the pilot assisted living project at Bukit Batok, which caters to the needs of seniors aged 65 and above, would be launched in May 2020.
As senior-centric activities will continue to be suspended, HDB will defer the launch of the pilot project until a later date, when it can better able reach out to seniors to share the details of the flat offerings with them.
