Specialised stores and outlets that predominantly retail dessert drinks, alcoholic beverages, coffee and tea will not be allowed to resume operations on May 12, the Enterprise Singapore (ESG) announced in a press release and a Facebook post on May 2.

ESG has also specifically listed examples of drinks, such as bubble tea, fruit juice, smoothies, and soya bean.

Earlier today, Minister for National Development Lawrence Wong announced in a virtual press conference that selected activities, such as home-based food businesses, food manufacturers and selected food retail outlets, will be allowed to resume from May 12.

Bubble tea stores will remain closed

ESG stated that stores that predominantly sell dessert boxes, including bubble tea, fruit juice, smoothies and soya bean will remain closed on May 12.

Shops that mainly sell alcoholic beverages, as well as coffee and tea, are also not allowed to resume operations on May 12.

ESG also provided an extensive list of businesses that may resume operation from May 12 onwards.

Food and beverage (F&B) establishments that predominantly sell snacks and desserts may reopen for takeaway and delivery only.

A number of food manufacturing facilities that were previously told to cease operations will also be allowed to reopen from May 12 onwards:

According to ESG, manufacturing and on-site preparation of all food is allowed, including the manufacturing of cakes and confectionery, ice-cream, cocoa, chocolate and chocolate products.

On-site baking of cakes and confectionary at retail stores will also be allowed.
