The circuit breaker has kept most of us at home since April, to help contain the Covid-19 outbreak in Singapore.

Dining out is no longer an option, leaving most of us to either buy takeaway meals or cook at home.

To keep our minds occupied and stave off cabin fever, some of us have been experimenting with cooking and baking at home, testing out new recipes and such.

Since you're already spending time crafting that Instagram-worthy jiggly cheesecake or bubble tea made from scratch, here's a way to help feed an underprivileged child while you're at it.

Ascott aiming to donate US$200,000 to feed hungry children

Ascott has pledged to donate US$10 (S$14) for every stay-home cooking moments shared on Instagram, with the hashtag #StayHomeWithAscott from now until May 31, 2020.

Ascott, which is a wholly owned subsidiary of CapitaLand Limited, aims to hit their donation target of US$200,000 (S$282,000), with the support of CapitaLand Hope Foundation (CHF)'s base donation of S$100,000 (S$141,000).

Each pledge, which consists of an Instagram post of your home-cooked food with the hashtag #StayHomeWithAscott, will go towards providing food for a child for over 20 days.

The donation will serve to support about 12,000 underprivileged children who have been affected by Covid-19, all over the world.

For example, you could simply post what you've whipped up for lunch today, share it on Instagram with a public profile and add the hashtag:

Or if you're feeling a little fancy and want to bake something nice:

And with that, you'll be helping to feed someone else while feeding yourself too.
