328 recovered Covid-19 patients have been discharged on May 8, 2020, according to the Ministry of Health (MOH).
Highest single-day number of discharged patients
This is the highest number of patients discharged in a single day since the virus arrived in Singapore.
A total of 2,040 Covid-19 patients have fully recovered from the infection as of May 8, and have been discharged from hospitals or community care facilities.
Previously, a 102-year-old patient had also overcome the virus:
There are currently 1,245 confirmed cases who are still in hospital. Of these, most are stable or improving, and 22 are in critical condition in the intensive care unit.
18,402 are isolated and cared for at community facilities. These are those who have mild symptoms, or are clinically well but still test positive for Covid-19
20 have died from complications due to the virus.
768 new cases
MOH earlier announced 768 new cases of Covid-19 in Singapore as of May 8, 12pm. 11 of these are community cases.
New cases in the community have decreased, from an average of 12 cases per day in the week before, to an average of 10 per day in the past week.
Unlinked cases in the community have also decreased, from an average of six cases per day in the week before, to an average of five per day in the past week.
