On May 5, a 19-year-old teen who had sexually abused a 13-year-old girl and a 15-year-old girl admitted to his offences, Yahoo! News reports.

The teen cannot be named to protect the identities of the girls.

Abusive relationship with 15-year-old

According to court documents, the accused, then 17, was in a romantic relationship with a female resident of a shelter who was 15 back in 2018.

Although the accused wanted to be physically intimate with the girl, the latter had rejected him as she knew she should not be having sex at her age.

Sometime in mid-November 2018, the accused attempted to be physically intimate with her at his flat.

The couple got into a fight after the girl rejected him again.

However, she eventually gave in and had sexual intercourse with the accused as she believed she loved him, the court document stated.

The couple continued to engage in frequent sexual intercourse until mid-March 2019, when a staff of the shelter noticed that the girl appeared depressed.

The girl then informed the staff about her relationship with the accused.

On March 20, 2019, the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) made a police report on this abusive relationship which involved multiple occasions of sex.

Had sex with 13-year-old girl

The accused was also charged for having sex with a 13-year-old girl. The two were formerly in a relationship and the accused was aware that the girl was turning 14.

On April 25, 2019, the accused met the 13-year-old at his house and gave her a can of beer in the presence of his cousin and friends. The girl drank half the can and felt tipsy.

The two were alone at home later at around 3am after the rest had left.

The duo then started kissing and had sex in the living room.

As it is the girl's first time having sex, she bled from her vagina and experienced pain while urinating.

On May 1, 2019, the girl's father brought her to a home where she informed the staff of her pain.

The home then arranged for her to be sent to KK Women and Children's Hospital, where she informed the doctor about the sexual intercourse she had with the accused.

On the same day, the staff of the KKH reported the case of sexual assault to the police.

Stole two cartons of Carlsberg beer worth S$95.80 from NTUC FairPrice

The accused was also charged for committing shop theft at an NTUC Fairprice outlet at Blk 50 Havelock Road.

At around 4:10am on February 3, 2019, the accused forced open a pallet containing Carlsberg Beer placed outside the FairPrice outlet and stole two cartons from it.

After reviewing the CCTV footage, the supermarket management managed to identify the accused who had also committed a similar theft on February 2.

A police report was lodged when he visited the outlet again on February 12 to buy cigarettes.

Harassed individuals on behalf of a loan shark for money

The accused was first charged on June 19, 2019 but was released on bail.

During this period, the accused had worked for a loan shark known as "Monkey" and harassed debtors to earn money.

The accused vandalised the wall next to a unit at Blk 53 Geylang Bahru, locked the unit's gate with a bicycle lock and splashed paint on the gate.

This was all recorded on his handphone and sent the recording to Monkey.

He also harassed another unit at Blk 124 Tampines Street 11 that same evening.

Return to court in June

In total, the accused pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual penetration of a minor, two counts of harassing debtors under the instructions of an unlicensed moneylender, and one count of shop theft at the FairPrice outlet.

Another 10 charges will be taken into consideration, including two offences of outrage of modesty in April, 2019.

His lawyer rejected the application for a reformative training suitability report and sought for a probation report, citing his client’s age and lack of criminal history.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Victoria Ting had pointed out that the accused had committed “quite a large number of offences over a prolonged period of time,” of which some were serious in nature, Yahoo reports.

In response, District Judge Eddy Tham said that he would still “keep an open mind” and the accused will be assessed for both probation and reformative training.

The accused has been remanded since July 26, 2019 and will return to court on June, 2, 2020.
