S'pore's oldest Covid-19 patient, 102-year-old great grandmother, discharged on Labour Day

102-year-old Yap Lay Hong is Singapore's oldest Covid-19 patient.

And on May 1, The Straits Times reported the good news that Yap was discharged from Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

Yap tested positive on Apr. 1, and was linked to the Lee Ah Mooi cluster, which has a total of 16 cases involving residents and staff.

She is Case 983.

She has five children, 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, ST reported.

Welcoming residents home

On May 1, Lee Ah Mooi Home had a Facebook post, welcoming home their "residents who fought hard to recover and overcome the Covid-19 virus".

Featuring a video with the residents showing heart-shaped hand-signs, they also thanked the frontline healthcare workers for their selfless efforts.

The welfare of our residents continues to be our top priority, they added.

According to ST, another 96-year-old resident remains in hospital, but her condition has been stable.

As of May 1, Singapore has reported 932 new cases of Covid-19.

There are now 17,101 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Singapore.

15 deaths have been reported in Singapore in total, including two residents from the Lee Ah Mooi cluster. Both are 86 years old.
