Covid-19: S'pore reports new record high of 728 new cases, 4,427 cases in total

The Ministry of Health (MOH) on Thursday (April 16) reported 728 new cases of Covid-19 infection in Singapore, bringing the total number of cases here to 4,427.

A majority of the new linked cases announced were work permit holders living in dormitories, similar to the previous few days.

728 new cases

Of the 728 new cases, 48 are cases in the community.

Of the new cases, 81% are linked to known clusters, while the rest are pending contact tracing.

There are no imported cases.

As there have been no more cases linked to Masjid Al-Muttaqin and Church of Singapore (Bukit Timah) for the past two incubation periods (28 days), the clusters have now been closed.

There are 23 cases in the intensive care unit. 1,886 cases are in the hospital.
