Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport is set to resume its services on May 1, as airlines restart flights following a month-long suspension.
According to Bangkok Post, the flagship airport has been renovated during the suspension, and domestic flights will resume first.
Repairs have been made to the airport
Suvarnabhumi Airport's general manager said that the number of foreign travellers had fallen significantly since the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) banned all international flights from landing in Thailand at the start of the month.
As a result, a few major airports, including Suvarnabhumi, closed off some areas for renovations, repairs, and to add new facilities.
Bangkok Post reported that repairs have been made to the airport's concourse, elevators, lighting, air-conditioning and baggage handling systems, while broken floor tiles have been replaced.

Previously, Thailand suspended all incoming passenger flights, in order to curb the spread of Covid-19.
The ban, which was originally between April 4 and April 6, was later extended to April 18.
The ban was extended for a third time till April 30, with the CAAT citing the need to continue measures to control Covid-19.
The ban excluded repatriation flights, as well as state and military aircraft, aircraft needing to make an emergency landing, and aircraft making technical landings without disembarkation.
On April 27, it was reported that the CAAT is planning to extend its inbound flight ban for another 15 days, in order to prevent a possible increase of Covid-19 infections, as over 1,000 Thai nationals are scheduled to return to Thailand this week.
