Please stay at home.

Are you still heading out for a "last hurrah" before the government's "Circuit Breaker" kicks in on Apr. 7?

Or perhaps you still think it's quite alright to queue for Ikea's meatballs.

Either way, Singapore's biggest Mandopop stars — Stefanie Sun, JJ Lin, Kit Chan, and Tanya Chua — have a short, harmonised, a cappella message for you:

In her post, Sun included hashtags which say: "When can I hold my concert? I can only stay home and rehearse my songs" and "JJ your fans need to see your abs in these difficult times".

Chua, on the other hand, penned a rather long post:

"Chatting with friends late at night and lamenting that everyone is almost out of work, can't go out to play, can’t do anything, it just feels so helpless.

From time to time, the news reports that there are still crowds gathered outside, really worried for them.

Thought about what we, as singers, can do and after a few messages within an hour, everyone agreed without hesitation, and our #stayathome movement was conceptualised overnight.

Everyone took their own selfies at home, there was a tacit understanding, serious and funny, all kinds of tricks were used, and the film was edited on the same day! The message is clear .. no? Thanks Stefanie Sun, JJ Lin, and Kit Chan! It is rare that we can have such meaningful cooperation. Very touched. Bringing together these efforts in the hopes that it will have a small impact. Let's do this together!"

And if you're wondering what you can possibly do cooped up at home, Sun has a few ideas:

Priority is stay at home, avoid crowds

During a press conference on Apr. 5, the co-chair of the Multi-Ministry Taskforce for Covid-19, Lawrence Wong, said that the "circuit breaker" measures are to “bring social activity down to a bare minimum”.

He added that studying the history of transmissions showed two common vectors: workplaces and social gatherings.

“The circuit breaker is really designed to break these possible transmission chains.”

“We are all in this together,” he said. “Everyone has to take the measures quite seriously.”

If you do need to go out, Health Minister Gan Kim Yong said that you should avoid places where crowds might be expected.

“The question is not whether you can do so, but whether you need to do so. The priority is stay at home as much as you can. Minimise the need to go out. Go out only when you absolutely need to do so.”
