Man, 55, allegedly slaps female staff at Jervois Rd. petrol kiosk after she asks him to wear a mask

Police were alerted to the incident on Apr. 12.

A 55-year-old man is currently being investigated for voluntarily causing hurt after allegedly slapping a woman.

Man refused to wear a mask

At 5:50pm on Sunday (Apr. 12), the police was alerted to an incident involving a female service attendant and a man at a petrol station along Jervois Road.

In a press release by Singapore Police Force (SPF), preliminary investigations revealed that the female service attendant had advised the man to wear a mask before entering the store.

However, he had refused to do so.

The man subsequently became agitated and allegedly slapped the woman on the face.

If found guilty, the man could be jailed for up to three years, or face a fine of up to $5,000, or both.

Police investigations are ongoing.

It is compulsory to wear masks at various locations.
