An elderly woman has come under the limelight for snapping at a man at People's Park Centre on Apr. 12 after he told her to put on a mask.
According to Lianhe Zaobao, the incident happened at around 12 noon. The man, said the Chinese paper, is an enforcement officer.
"I don't like to be forced!" she said in a video that is circulating on Facebook.
"But everybody is wearing it," said the exasperated officer off-camera.
"I don't want, I don't care everybody or what!" she berated him.
According to Zaobao, when another passer-by urged her to comply with the regulations and stay at home, the woman retorted:
"It's none of your business! If I die, it's my problem!"
The woman then went on to complain aloud that she was being forced to put on a mask: "You all don't force me....Don't force people lah, please lah!"
The woman also said that her son bought masks for her but she does not want to wear them.
The enforcement officer then told her that everyone in Singapore has to put on their masks. To this, the lady shouted and accused him of bullying her:
"Don't compare! I'm an old lady, don't bully me! Young person bully old people! You bullied me! Keep asking me to wear mask!"
The video ends with the enforcement officer walking away.
Since Apr. 12, it is mandatory to wear masks when visiting supermarkets, convenience stores, pharmacies, malls in Singapore.
