You can say hello to the safe distancing enforcement officers and make their day.

This friendly message by Environment and Water Resources Minister Masagos Zulkifli was put up on his Facebook post on Friday, April 17.

More than 150 people were fined

Masagos revealed that more than 150 people face fines for dining in at F&B establishments, loitering in public spaces, and not complying with other safe distancing measures.

He also said that the enforcement officers found around 100 people not wearing masks when they were out.

This is double the roughly 50 who were caught not wearing masks on Thursday (Apr. 16).

Those caught can face a fine of S$300 for the first offence, and S$1,000 for the second — similar to the penalties for breaches of other safe distancing measures.

The minister urged all residents in Singapore to encourage and support one another to weather these remaining 17 Circuit Breaker days together.
