The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) said on April 11 that foreign domestic workers must stay at home on their rest days, The Straits Times reported.

Employers must be accountable for foreign domestic workers' whereabouts

According to this new advisory, if the workers have to make essential trips out such as buying food or running errands, employers will be accountable for their whereabouts.

The ministry also urged the workers to wear face masks when they head out.

They must return home immediately after completing these essential trips and not loiter or gather outside.

One domestic worker confirmed with Covid-19 recently

According to a circular seen by Mothership, a domestic worker living in Blk 1A Ritz Mansions has been confirmed with Covid-19.

The domestic worker was warded in Khoo Teck Puat Hospital on April 4 and the management was informed on April 7.

The management then issued the circular on April 7 to inform residents of the building at Balestier Road.

The management also assured the residents that disinfection has been conducted and they have stepped up precautionary measures such as temperature taking for all permanent staff on site.
