The man was seen in a video published by Roads.sg.

Two uniformed police officers showed up and appeared to have confronted the man, who was seen with what appeared to be food with him as he ate at the hawker centre while standing up.

Another man was seen holding a drink in front of one of the police officers in the video.

It is not clear what the police officers told the two men, or whether any action was taken against them.

Punishable by law if circuit breaker measures are flouted

Safe Distancing and SG Clean Ambassadors, and Enforcement Officers (EOs) have been deployed in HDB estates nationwide and they are likely to be patrolling the public spaces until May 4, 2020.

During this period, only takeaways are allowed.

The ambassadors and EOs will encourage and enforce safe distancing during this period by issuing advisories and enforcing punitive measures.

Members of the public have to comply with elevated safe distancing measures in the common property of public and private housing estates, parks and other shared spaces.

Non-compliance is an offence as inspections will be carried out and stern action will be taken against anyone who breaches safe distancing measures, authorities have warned.

National Environment Agency (NEA) officers will hand out written warnings and take down the particulars of those who continue to defy regulations.

Stricter enforcement measures may be imposed when necessary, according to NEA.

Under the Infectious Diseases Act, first-time offenders may be fined up to S$10,000, jailed for up to six months, or both, if convicted.
