ICA building closed on Apr. 11 for cleaning after identification of new Covid-19 cluster

A new cluster was identified there.

198 new cases of Covid-19 infection, and three new clusters were announced by the Ministry of Health (MOH) on Apr. 10.

One of the clusters identified was the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) building at 10 Kallang Road.

ICA building to be closed for cleaning

The ICA building will be closed for cleaning on Apr. 11, according to an ICA press release issued in the evening of Apr. 10.

Customers who have appointments with ICA on Saturday, Apr. 11 should visit the ICA Building only on Monday, Apr. 13.

As for foreign visitors whose visit passes are expiring on Apr. 11 or 12, ICA said that it will process their requests for extension on Monday, Apr. 13.

ICA said that the building would be cleaned in accordance with NEA guidelines for environmental cleaning and disinfection of areas for Covid-19 cases.

Details of cases linked to ICA Building cluster

One new case confirmed on Friday is linked to four previous cases, forming a cluster of five cases at the ICA Building, located at 10 Kallang Road.

Case 1553 is a 49-year old male Singapore Citizen, confirmed with Covid-19 on Apr. 7.

Case 1650 is a 42-year old male Singapore Citizen, confirmed with Covid-19 on Apr. 8.

Case 1698 is a 66-year old female Singapore Citizen, confirmed with Covid-19 on Apr. 8.

Case 1733 is a 39-year old female Singapore Citizen, confirmed with Covid-19 on Apr. 8.

Case 1950 is a 23-year-old male Singapore Citizen who confirmed with Covid-19 on Apr. 10.

The cases were subsequently identified in an ICA statement as three ICA officers (Cases 1553, 1650 and 1698), a healthcare assistant (Case 1733), and an Auxiliary Police Officer engaged by ICA at ICA Building (Case 1950)

The other two clusters were at a dormitory located at Sungei Kadut Avenue and NUH renovation site.
