Five levels of intensity.

Singapore went into "circuit breaker" mode on Apr. 7, 2020.

For 28 days, residents are not to leave their homes unless necessary, to curb the spread of Covid-19.

Unfortunately, a portion of the population remains obstinate.

So obstinate that the the team behind Gov.sg's WhatsApp updates is getting increasingly "pek chek" (frustrated), as observed by one Derek Foo.

Here are five messages that Foo juxtaposed, from updates sent on Apr. 1, 4, 5, 7, and 10.

While the first message started out with a gentle reminder to keep our seniors safe (with a heart emoji, no less). the fifth one reinforced the policy by stating, "They [seniors] are more likely to die than younger people."

The astute observation, which Foo said was inspired by one Shan Lin Sim, has gotten almost 400 shares on Facebook.

Foo added that his "heart goes out to the team" for having to send these daily updates.

A commenter also noticed that a subsequent message from Gov.sg begged older Singaporeans to stay home with a "PLEASE" in caps:

From today (Apr. 12), first-time safe distance offenders will face a S$300 fine instead of receiving a written stern warning.
