Every little bit helps.

Numerous foreign workers have recently contracted Covid-19, as more clusters emerge in foreign worker dormitories.

The incidents have raised concerns over the situation of other foreign workers, whose lives may be affected by the circuit breaker measures.

Mental health important for foreign workers too

One Andy Loe recently took to Facebook to express his concerns for foreign workers.

In light of the gazetting of several dormitories as isolation areas, Loe shared his worries about how the workers would cope and whether they had sufficient resources available during their quarantine period.

Aside from the basic necessities like food and healthcare, Loe said that emotional and mental health was equally important.

"I know of people placed under SHN in the comfort of a hotel room and their home but dying to see their SHN coming to an end."

Considering this, he hoped that the foreign workers would have access to counselling, as well as a means to top up their calling cards.

Support for the foreign workers in the community

Loe urged Singaporeans to show support for other workers who may still be working, and to make them feel they are a part of the community.

Loe shared that the cleaner of his estate, M, was a foreign worker and had been helping to maintain the estate since five years ago.

M told him that his work load had been doubled, even as more residents are staying home.

Loe shared several ways one could carry out simple acts of kindness.

This can include purchasing an extra item from the supermarket for them.

Photos Loe posted showed he had bought masks and grocery items like eggs, rice and milo powder for his estate cleaner.

Another gesture to show one's appreciation could be something as simple as handing them a "Thank you" note.
