And couples who no longer have the opportunity to meet in person are now turning to innovative ways to keep the romance alive.
One 29-year-old Singaporean lady took to Instagram stories to share how she and her fiance recently had a dinner date. Over video call.
She even dressed up for the occasion:
And even put in a great deal of effort to set up the dinner table complete with wine, a bottle of Perrier for decoration, and hand sanitiser:
The lady told Mothership that she and her fiance are currently living apart -- he's a Malaysian who is currently residing in Malaysia while she's in Singapore.
They decided to get off work on time and set aside some time to celebrate their second-year anniversary.
She told him she wanted to eat lamb chops, so he ordered it and had it delivered to her house using his Grab account.
For himself, he already had dinner prepared at home so he did not order delivery for himself.
Her fiance also sent her a bouquet of flowers for the occasion.
Their dinner date started at 7:30pm.
After dinner, they decided to watch "Tiger King" together via Netflix Party until 12:30am.
The entire video call lasted around five hours.
It was the first time they had ever done anything like it.
She said that "both really enjoyed it" and would want to do it again. However, she hopes to "date normally" when all this is over.
