Northpoint City announced on April 17 that three of its cleaners were diagnosed with Covid-19 on April 14 and 15.

The three affected employees work at the South wing of the mall, which is located opposite Yishun MRT station.

Employees hospitalised, colleagues placed on 14-day LOA

The three cleaners have since been hospitalised, and their colleagues who were on the same shifts have been placed on a 14-day Leave of Absence (LOA).

The mall has been thoroughly disinfected on April 14 and another service team has been deployed to the South wing of Northpoint City during this period.

As an added precaution, the building management will take the following measures:

  • Increase the frequency of cleaning for all common areas
  • Deploy hand sanitisers at common areas such as customer service, toilets and the fire command centre
  • Conduct twice daily temperature checks for mall management staff, and our contractors
  • Make the wearing of face masks compulsory for all staff and contractors

A spokesperson for Frasers Property Retail said "the safety and wellbeing of staff, contractors and shoppers remain top priority".
