A teacher at a My First Skool centre in Sengkang has tested positive for Covid-19, resulting in the closure of another pre-school in Singapore.

The teacher was last in the centre on April 7.

To cover the 14-day incubation period of the virus, the venue at 295A Compassvale Crescent will be closed from April 15 to 21.

A thorough cleaning and disinfection will be carried out during this down time.

All staff and children will be put on a leave of absence.

These measures were announced by the Early Childhood Development Agency (ECDA).

The centre will reopen on April 22 to serve parents who are working in essential services and are unable to find alternative care for their children.

Since April 8, after circuit breaker measures kicked in, wider school operations have been suspended.
