Covid-19: 233 new cases in S'pore, 141 Work Permit holders are unlinked cases

The Ministry of Health has announced 233 new cases of the Covid-19 infection in Singapore on April 12, 2020.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases to 2,532.

Here's a breakdown of the cases:

  •  Imported cases: 0
  • Linked to known clusters: 51
  • Linked to other cases: 15
  • Pending contact tracing: 167, of which 16 are Singapore Citizens/ Permanent Residents and 10 are Work Pass or Long Term Pass holders residing in our community. 141 are Work Permit holders residing in dormitories, work sites and other living quarters.

32 more cases discharged

32 more cases of COVID-19 infection have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities.

In all, 560 have fully recovered from the infection and have been discharged from hospitals or community isolation facilities.

Of the 976 confirmed cases who are still in hospital, most are stable or improving.

31 are in critical condition in the intensive care unit.

988 cases who are clinically well but still test positive for Covid-19 are isolated and cared for at community facilities.

Eight have passed away from complications due to Covid-19 infection.
