More orders.

McDonald's has closed all its outlets as of 11am on Apr. 19.

Delivery and takeaway services have also been suspended.

McDonald's stated that this abrupt—and for some loyal fans, rather devastating—move is a preventative measure against Covid-19.

High volume

And with one fast food staple gone, those in Singapore will likely have to contend with alternative burgers—like the Whopper for example.

On the same day of the closure, Burger King took to Facebook to ask Singaporeans to be patient with their orders.

This, they said, was because their kitchens were experiencing "a high volume due to the recent increase in orders".

Delivery and waiting times are thus expected to be longer.

In the meantime, Burger King urged everyone to stay safe by adhering to safe distancing measures, and to wear their masks whenever leaving the house.

Several Facebook users have subsequently pointed out the connection between Burger King's post, and the cessation of McDonald's operations.

KFC

In the meantime, KFC has chimed in with a post of their own.

The franchise added that from Apr. 20 onwards, all delivery and takeaway orders will be served contactless.

They also asked for the patience and understanding of customers, considering the "recent increase in demand for Takeaway and Delivery".
