Covid-19: 5 out of 7 deaths had chronic issues & all were above 60 years old

The other two patients who passed away were above the age of 85.

All seven Covid-19 patients, who passed away due to complications, were elderly patients over the age of 64.

Five of the patients who passed away had chronic diseases, such as heart disease, hypertension and diabetes.

The other two patients who died were above the age of 85.

According to various medical studies, there are multiple risk factors which increase the risk of severe Covid-19 infection and fatality.

The factors that increase the risk of getting a more severe infection include older age, pre-existing chronic diseases, such as hypertension, diabetes and coronary heart disease.

The first two fatalities of Covid-19 were reported on Mar. 21.

As of Apr. 10, the death toll for Covid-19 cases in Singapore is seven.

First death

The first patient, Case 90, was a 75-year-old female Singaporean, with a history of chronic heart disease and hypertension.

She developed serious complications, and eventually succumbed to the infection after 26 days in the ICU on Mar. 21 at 7:52am.

Second death

The second patient, Case 212, was a 64-year-old male Indonesian national, with a history of heart disease.

He developed serious complications and eventually succumbed to the infection after nine days in the ICU on March 21 at 10:15am.

Prior to his arrival in Singapore on March 13, he was also hospitalised in Indonesia for pneumonia.

Third death

The third patient, Case 109, was a 70-year-old male Singaporean, with a history of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, as well as high blood pressure and high cholesterol.

He passed away from the complications after 27 days in the ICU on Mar. 29 at 12:12pm.

Fourth death

The fourth patient, Case 476, was a 68-year-old male Indonesian national who was a Singapore Work Pass holder, with a history of diabetes and hypertension.

He developed serious complications and eventually succumbed to the infection after seven days in the ICU on Apr. 2.

Fifth death

The fifth patient, whose details match Case 918, was a 86-year-old female Singaporean.

She developed complications and passed away on Apr. 3, 2020 at 1:55am.

Sixth death

The fifth patient, whose details match Case 855, was a 88 year-old male Singapore Permanent Resident.

He had a history of heart and kidney disease, cancer and diabetes.

He passed away from complications due to Covid-19 infection at 5:41am on Apr. 4.

Seventh death

The seventh patient, Case 987, was a 86-year-old female Singaporean.

She passed away from complications due to Covid-19 infection on the night of Apr. 9, 2020.
