An elderly woman in Singapore has gained infamy online for insisting on eating at a hawker centre despite the Circuit Breaker measures.

The woman, whom Lianhe Wanbao termed the Most Stubborn Grandma in Singapore, was eating kway chap at the 37A Teban Gardens Road Market and Food Centre on April 18 when she was approached by Safe Distancing Enforcement Officers.

When the officers urged her to bring her food home to eat, the woman refused, saying in Hokkien: "I don't care how much the fine is!"

She also claimed that her back hurt and insisted that she could not walk far. When the officers repeated their plea and warned her that she would incur a S$300 fine, she retorted:

"So what if it's S$300? I'm not afraid! Go ahead, call the Police, I'm not afraid!"

Officers on site advised her to return home and save on the S$300 fine, and even offered to help her pack her food, but the woman insisted on staying at the hawker centre and even accused the officers of bullying her.

Hawkers that Wanbao spoke to confirmed that the woman was very angry and refused to cooperate.

The confrontation last about 30 minutes, the Chinese daily reported.

In the end, the officers called the Police, who in turn, took down the woman's particulars and issued her a S$300 fine.

The Police also notified her son, who then came down to bring her home.

Oh well. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
