The Ministry of Health (MOH) has announced a series of additional precautionary measures for all travellers who arrive in Singapore and exhibit fever or other symptoms of respiratory symptoms.

MOH will issue a 14-day Stay-Home Notice (SHN) for travellers, even if the result of the swab test is negative.

MOH has earlier announced on Mar. 4 that travellers who arrive in Singapore and exhibit symptoms of respiratory diseases will have to undergo a swab test for Covid-19 at immigration checkpoints.

Case 147 undertook a swab test upon arrival in Singapore, but was only sent to NCID hours later

According to the MOH, this will take place with immediate effect.

Those who meet the clinical suspect case definition will be conveyed to the hospital for follow-up.

This comes after a 64-year-old male Indonesian national who arrived in Singapore with a fever, and underwent a Covid-19 swab test at Seletar Airport on March 7.

The man, who is Case 147, was later transferred to the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID), and subsequent test results confirmed Covid-19 infection on March 8 morning.

However, it is unclear how many hours had lapsed between his swab test and his admission into NCID.
