A part-time Social Work student from the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) was diagnosed with Covid-19 on Mar. 14.

The case, details of whom were disclosed by the Ministry of Health on Sunday night, was confirmed in an Instagram post on SIM Global Education's official account on Monday, Feb. 16.

Here's the text of the post in case it isn't loading for you:

"On 15 March, SIM has been informed of a Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) student who was tested positive for COVID-19. This is Case 214.

SUSS shares a common campus with SIM at Clementi Road.

Upon notification of the case, SIM has undertaken deep cleansing and disinfecting of the areas he spent time in.

The part-time SUSS Social Work student was last on campus on March 12. He went straight ot his classroom and left campus after the lesson. SUSS is working closely with the authorities to do Contact Tracing of his close contacts.

He is currently warded at NCID and is coping well.

We will keep up with the cleaning of our campus to remind everyone to be vigilant, monitor their health, practise good personal hygiene and seek medical attention immediately of unwell.

Last at campus on Mar. 12

SIM said the student was last at the campus on the evening of Mar. 12.

He had apparently gone to his classroom and left the campus straight after the lesson.

According to a Facebook post from SUSS, the student is now under the care of doctors at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID) and is coping well.

Meanwhile, the school is working closely with the authorities for contact tracing, and also underwent deep cleaning and disinfecting of the areas he was at as soon as they were notified about him.

"We will keep up with the cleaning of our common facilities to keep our campus safe."

Here's MOH's information about the case:

Case 214 is a 29-year-old male Singapore Citizen with no recent travel history to affected countries and region.

He is currently warded in an isolation room at NCID. He is linked to Case 208, a 26-year-old social worker at the Singapore General Hospital who lives in Tiong Bahru.

He reported onset of symptoms on Mar. 5 and had sought treatment at a general practitioner (GP) clinic on Mar. 6 and Mar. 8. He presented at NCID on Mar. 14, and subsequent test results confirmed Covid-19 infection on Mar. 14 afternoon.

Prior to hospital admission, he had visited Youth Go! (403 Fajar Road), Project 180 @ Simei (145 Simei Street 2) and Singapore University of Social Sciences (463 Clementi Road).

He lives at Jurong West Street 71.
