Over 500 cherry and peach blossom trees will be featured amidst a Japanese springtime landscape.

Due to the latest precautionary measures stipulated by the Ministry of Health (MOH), the events 'Sakura Matsuri: Cultural Programmes', 'Sakura Matsuri: Anime Garden' & 'Get Crafty: Sakura Postcard' that were scheduled to take place in Mar. 2020 have been cancelled]

From now till Mar. 29, the fifth edition of the Sakura Matsuri will be held at Gardens by the Bay.

Over 500 cherry and peach blossom trees at Flower Dome

Over 500 cherry and peach blossom trees will be featured amidst a Japanese springtime landscape, including perennial favourites like the award-winning cherry blossom cultivar Prunus "Accolade" with shell-pink blooms and the classic Prunus "Yedoensis" with elegant white flowers.

Reproductions of six cherry blossom inspired paintings by local artist Quek Kiat Sing will also be displayed alongside the flowers.

Japanese tea ceremonies, Anime Garden, Hanami Experience

Complementing the floral display in Flower Dome are free cultural programmes like Japanese tea ceremonies organised in partnership with the Embassy of Japan in Singapore’s Japan Creative Centre.

A host of free activities ranging from anime screenings and anisong concerts, to appearances by celebrity cosplayers, will also be held at Anime Garden in the last weekend of March at The Meadow.

In addition, visitors can opt for a Hanami Experience, which includes a two-way ride between Bayfront Plaza and Flower Dome on the autonomous vehicle Auto Rider, a yukata rental, a hanami pack of sakura-flavoured snacks and green tea, and sakura sake tasting.

Ongoing promotions

Promotions such as a 50 per cent discount off tickets to Flower Dome, Cloud Forest, Floral Fantasy and Supertree Observatory, free admission for children during the March holidays, free parking and more will also be ongoing till the end of March.
