OCBC S'pore confirms Covid-19 case, staff who had been in close contact working from home

The bank's office and common areas have been cleaned and disinfected.

OCBC Bank has confirmed that one of its staff has been diagnosed with Covid-19.

The staff reportedly works in OCBC Centre at ‎65 Chulia Street.

An internal email was sent to employees on Mar. 10, informing them that a colleague had tested positive on the same day.

Ms Koh Ching Ching, Head of Group Brand and Communications, OCBC Bank said that the colleague only felt ill a few days after she had last been in the office.

The patient was last in the office on Feb. 28, according to Koh.

All staff who had close contact with the patient are currently working from home.

The office and common areas have also been cleaned and disinfected.

“One of our colleagues has been confirmed to be infected with the novel coronavirus. Our colleague fell ill a few days after the last day in the office on Feb. 28. Since then, the colleague has not been back in the office.

As a precautionary measure, staff who had close contact with the colleague are currently working from home. Thorough cleaning and disinfection of the office and the common areas have been completed. We are giving our colleague and our colleague’s family the best possible support. We wish our colleague a speedy recovery.”
