On Mar. 11, a Facebook user who goes by the name Nicole posted a lengthy "rant" accusing a LTA Active Mobility Enforcement Officer of tackling and injuring her friend.

Was "pushed" into a drain

According to Nicole, the officer allegedly chased her friend and pushed him into a drain.

"[He] tackled and pushed my friend down in the drain, falling on top of him with his body weight further injuring my friend here," wrote Nicole.

As a result, Nicole said, her friend was badly injured.

She also attached photos of two officers standing beside a personal mobility device.

She did not provide more information on what led to the alleged scuffle, except to say that her friend's scooter is "LTA compliant" and "registered".

Nicole also accused the enforcement officers of being preoccupied with "catching him and earning their incentives".

Nicole's post has been set to "Friends only" and it is inaccessible to members of the public.

PMD rider nearly collided with elderly lady

In a statement, LTA confirmed that the incident happened on Mar. 11 at Bukit Batok.

The agency added that its officers came across an e-scooter rider who was riding illegally on a footpath.

When the officers signalled to the rider to stop, he sped up instead and tried to escape, nearly colliding with an elderly lady.

"In the process of stopping the e-scooter rider, the rider and AMEO fell. Both suffered minor injuries and received immediate medical attention on site. The case has been referred to the Police for further investigations," said LTA.

The agency also confirmed with Mothership that its Active Mobility Enforcement Officers do not earn "incentives" or commissions for catching active mobility offenders.

Edit: Nicole reached out to Mothership and informed us that her post has been set to "Friends only". We have updated the article to reflect that.
