Japanese man with Covid-19 told by hospital to stay home, goes bar-hopping instead

A Japanese man in Gamaguri, Japan was diagnosed on March 4 with Covid-19 despite having no symptoms. He had reportedly gotten it from his parents, who were also confirmed patients.

Due to the hospital lacking beds at the moment, the man was told by the hospital to stay at home and wait for some slots to open up.

Local media reported that despite the hospital's warning, the man, who is in his 50s, decided to go out to a bar.

According to the Tokyo Reporter, the man took a taxi from his house to an Izakaya, which is a kind of Japanese bar, and then made his way on foot to a Filipino pub.
