Oh no.

On Mar. 9, the Ministry of Health (MOH) called out a few "socially irresponsible" individuals who were the cause of many locally transmitted cases.

Using the Wizlearn Technologies and Safra Jurong clusters as examples, MOH revealed that a few individuals had carried on with their daily routines despite feeling unwell.

This caused the cluster to expand to those who were not in the original environment.

1. Wizlearn Technologies cluster

This cluster has 14 confirmed cases so far.

Nine of them were staff. Among the nine, three staff members had continued with their daily activities even though they felt unwell.

One staff spread the virus to a family contact, who in turn carried on with their daily activities even after onset of symptoms.

This resulted in four more additional cases who did not work at the company.

2. Safra Jurong cluster

There are 36 confirmed cases linked to a private dinner function at Safra Jurong as of Mar. 9.

One of the attendees had gone to the dinner on Feb. 15, despite feeling unwell. The person subsequently tested positive for Covid-19.

MOH said that this could have resulted in 18 additional cases, who were also at the dinner and later tested positive.

Out of the 18 additional cases, 10 carried on with their daily activities even though they were unwell.

This resulted in another 17 cases who were not at the dinner.
