Grab closes all levels of its Marina One office after employee tested positive for Covid-19 on Mar. 7

Deep cleaning and disinfection of the premises are being carried out.

Grab confirmed on Mar. 9 that one of its employees at its corporate office has been infected with Covid-19.

A Grab spokesperson tells Mothership that the man works at Marina One West Tower.

They stated that the employee does not handle day to day operations on its frontline premises.

The man tested positive on Mar. 7, and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Singapore.

Grab they will be providing the employee and his family the necessary support and guidance.

The company has also taken precautionary measures at the office since the patient's infection.

All levels of the Marina One office have been closed since Mar. 7, and deep cleaning and disinfection carried out at the premises.

Grab has informed the building's management, which proceeded to sanitise the lifts and other common areas in the West Tower.

All Grab employees have also been updated on the situation, and those working in the affected offices have been asked to work from home during this period, till Mar. 11.

The company is also working closely with authorities to conduct contact tracing with employees and other people who may have come into close contact with the patient.

According to the spokesperson, Grab will continue to monitor the situation closely and are ready to implement additional precautionary measures, and in the meantime will ensure "minimal impact to [their] business operation".

Thus far, Singapore has had 150 confirmed cases of Covid-19 as of March 8.

An employee of Facebook, which is located at Marina One as well, was previously confirmed to be infected, and had visited the Singapore office for a day from late Feb. to early March.
