Gojek riders in Singapore will have to fork out an extra S$0.70 for every trip starting from Mar. 9, 2020.

According to Gojek, this flat fee will "go directly towards initiatives designed to improve the experience for customers and driver-partners".

These initiatives will be unveiled over the next few months.

Aside from that, Gojek is also planning to implement a multi-destination feature which allows riders to add one extra stop to their trip at the point of booking. This will also improve earnings for drivers since multi-destination trips come with higher fares.

From today (Mar. 2), Gojek drivers' service quality and ability to provide a safe riding experience will be regularly assessed.

According to Gojek, they will be assessed on multiple factors including ratings and reviews. They will be required to undergo "up-skilling" or retraining if they do not meet Gojek's safety and quality standards.

This, says Gojek, is to encourage safer and more pleasant rides.
